Planning a Small Crushing and Screening Operation

Prepare the feed, product and site-layout brief before selecting a crusher. Conveyors, screens, loading equipment and stockpiles determine whether the whole circuit works.

Define feed and saleable product

Document material properties, maximum feed dimensions, grading, contamination and target product requirements. Obtain application support using representative material information. A crusher inlet or screening area does not establish output quality or a reliable throughput figure by itself.

Choose the process sequence

Compare primary jaw crushing with the secondary or other duties served by cone and impact equipment. Determine what must be screened, recirculated or removed. The MCO 90i EVO2 transport example includes a post-screen, while the MR 110i basic reference does not; a circuit comparison must include all necessary modules.

Draw the working layout from real equipment

Map hopper loading, discharge heights, transfer conveyors, stockpiles, loader routes and service space. Keep deployed conveyor dimensions separate from folded transport. For the SF80, retain unresolved feed/interface details until a matched drawing is available rather than inferring them from the decorative image.

Build a complete purchase and operating brief

Inspect wear chambers, feeders, belts, screens, tracks/trailers and controls under manufacturer isolation procedures. Inventory dust and other process-control equipment where required by the project. Model feed preparation, wear, loading, transport and downtime with supported assumptions; no generic tonnes-per-hour promise is made.

Questions to close out

  • Obtain manufacturer application support.
  • Identify every required screen and conveyor.
  • Verify deployed and transport configurations separately.
  • Price wear and loading/support machines together.
