Build a load profile
List connected equipment, voltage, phase, frequency, concurrent demand, starting characteristics and the required operating schedule. Have qualified electrical personnel validate the requirements and protection/distribution arrangement. Average demand alone can miss starting or peak loads that change the equipment choice.
Read generator duty and battery ratings separately
The archived QAS 100 reference distinguishes prime and standby ratings and uses a specific 50 Hz 400 V configuration. The ZBP 45-60 brochure distinguishes rated inverter power from stored energy. Do not combine a standby rating with a prime-duty assumption or treat the 45-60 name as an exact energy value.
Plan charging and integration
A battery needs a defined charging opportunity and compatible source/control arrangement. A generator-battery combination requires supplier-supported integration; two independently suitable units are not automatically a validated system. Account for permitted discharge, conversion losses and actual load variation before estimating runtime.
Check the whole installation and cost case
Enclosure dimensions are not ventilation or service clearances. Obtain exact installation instructions, connections, lifting/transport requirements and battery-health or generator-load-test evidence. Compare hire or ownership with charging, fuel, distribution, maintenance and standby included; no unsupported runtime or fuel saving is promised.
Decision worksheet
| Requirement | Evidence to collect | Effect on equipment choice |
|---|---|---|
| Electrical demand | Validated load and starting profile | Select output and compatible voltage/frequency |
| Duration and charging | Schedule and confirmed charge source | Size energy and integration needs |
| Installation | Clearances, distribution and service instructions | Include more than the enclosure footprint |
