Map the material streams
Identify the expected material classes, receiving containers, transfer points and sorting requirements provided by the project team. Record required reach, loading height and available setup space. Hazardous-material identification and structural sequencing must be resolved through the project process before machine selection is treated as an operating plan.
Choose handling equipment for the actual duty
A dedicated crawler material handler such as the 830 E uses handling equipment and an elevating cab; a conventional excavator such as the 336 has a different front and visibility package. Compare the actual grab, rotator, coupler and protective requirements rather than inferring handling capacity from digging force.
Check the complete working envelope
Obtain the correct load/working diagram with attachment deductions and support conditions. A raised cab changes height and access but does not establish reach or capacity. Keep transport dimensions separate from the operating grab and elevated-cab illustration. Plan container access, vehicle movement and machine relocation as part of the layout.
Inspect and cost the processing chain
Inspect boom/stick structure, slew components, attachment mounts, hoses and protective systems with qualified personnel. Review the grab and rotator service history separately from carrier hours. Include sorting tools, containers, hauling, cleaning and service access in the estimate; a carrier-only quote omits much of the process.
